Sandra Turner Blythe, 72, of Roanoke Rapids died Friday, November 20, 2009 at Autumn Care in Nashville, NC.

Sandra was born in Halifax County on July 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Edward Lee Turner and Ruby Garner Turner. She was employed at Timberlake Drug Store for 35 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Eugene Blythe; her brother, Ronald Lee Turner; and her daughter-in-law, Cindy Blythe.

Sandra is survived by two sons, Gene Lewis Blythe of Littleton and Donnie Lee Blythe of Huntersville; three step-grandchildren, Tina Freeman Barnes and her husband, Jerry, Mark Freeman and his wife, Stephanie, and Gavin McLemore; three step-great grandchildren, Ryan and Cassie Barnes and Ashton Freeman; and two cherished friends, Marlene Goodall and Renee Williams.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Cryptside services will held on Sunday, November 22, at 4:30 p.m. at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
